Eco-Toxicology: Daphnia tests using CASY
In
A new Application Note describes the use of the CASY to perform daphnia tests for the detection of pollutants in water. Scientists of the School of Biotechnology in Dublin, Ireland use the CASY in a miniaturized Multiwell assay that allows phenotypic characterization of animals in toxicological studies on the level of a single individual.
Prof. K. Grintzalis, School of Biotechnology:
The CASY cell counter proved to be an accurate and sensitive instrument for ecotoxicological applications allowing fast, simple and label-free measurements.
